Based on bell hooks' book, Teaching to Transgress , this workshop aims to explore the ideas and conflicts for teachers creating open-dialogue within the liberatory classroom. We invite current teachers, teachers-in-training, and students into a safe-space to discuss issues presented in the essay, "Engaged Pedagogy" by bell hooks. Please read this essay prior to attending.
